Baroque composer and musician Johann Sebastian Bach was famous throughout Europe even during his lifetime. Today his work, which encompasses more than 1,100 cantata, preludes, masses and choral pieces, is known all over the world. Yet despite this, very little is known today about the man himself. In the Bach Archive in Leipzig, the centre of international research on Bach, a team headed by Archive Director Prof. Peter Wollny and musicologist Prof. Christoph Wolff has developed a new methodical approach. L.I.S.A. ist somit fest in der Tradition der Stiftung verankert, und wird gleichzeitig aktuellen und zukünftigen Forschungsbedürfnissen gerecht.
